Obituary for Forrest R. Kelly

Forrest R.  Kelly
Forrest Robinson Kelly, 94, of Palm City, Florida, died October 19, 2017 at Water’s Edge in Palm City, Florida.

He was born in Harlingen, Texas, on May 29, 1923. From 1943 - 1945 he served with the 251st QM CO., 71st Division XX Corps, 3rd Army. He graduated from Southern Methodist University in 1949 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics and from Harvard University in 1951 with a Master’s degree in economics.

He and his wife Carolyn Pennock Kelly lived in New Hartford, NY for 33 years. He was employed by the Oneida National Bank of Central New York where he became President and Chief Executive Officer.

He served on the boards or committees of many public spirited organizations in central New York including the Salvation Army, Utica Rotary Club, Chamber of Commerce, Sunset Home and Children’s Hospital and Rehabilitation Center. He was a member of the Utica Masonic Lodge 47 and the Mohawk Valley Consistory, a 33rd degree Mason, and Past Potentate of Ziyara Temple.

Survivors include his daughter, Caryl Kelly Love of Port St. Lucie, Florida; sons, Clarke Sparkman Kelly and his wife Gail of Baltimore, Maryland and Forrest Robinson Kelly Jr.(Robin) and his wife JeanMarie of Dade City, Florida; 6 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
