Obituary for Ruth Elizabeth Mangas

Ruth Elizabeth Mangas
Ruth Elizabeth Mangas, 94, of Port St. Lucie, FL, passed away on October 7, 2016 at Solaris Healthcare in Stuart, FL

Born in LaGrange, IN to Bliss and Sarah Evans and Ruth had two siblings, Stanton and Rachael. The family grew up in SE Michigan where she lived most of her adult life, until moving with her husband Frank to Port St. Lucie 36 years ago.

Ruth and Frank enjoyed traveling for many years, especially to Southwestern US. In retirement they were so happy to be in Florida to enjoy the beautiful weather and be near her daughter, Maria and grandchildren.

Ruth dearly loved her cats and they provided her much companionship over the years. She was an artist and taught ceramics for many years at the Savanna Club in Port St. Lucie. Her love for crafts and creativity was endless. What she couldn’t do, Frank would help her, they both enjoyed making beautiful jewelry together and Frank filled the gaps of finishing pieces that she may not have been able to complete on her own.

Her daughters, Francine and Sarah, husband, Frank, sister Rachael and brother Stanton, predecease her. She had been a member of Morningside Friends Church, Port St. Lucie.

Survivors include her daughter, Maria S. Wells and her husband Rod Sturm of Jensen Beach; her son Gary Miller and his wife Carole of Frisco, TX; her grandchildren, Ryan Haines of Tampa, FL, Erika Wells Sessanta and her husband Mark Sessanta of Bath, PA, Jeff Miller and his wife Laurel of MI, Kevin Miller and his wife Katie of TX, Brian Miller and his wife Annie of TX and Michelle Masters of TX along with her great grandchildren, Stella Sessanta, Cameron Miller, Nate Miller, Brett Miller, Jacob Miller, Lauren Buckholtz, Madison Masters, Braeden Masters and Morgan Masters.
