Obituary for Anne C. Irving

Anne C.  Irving
Anne Connell Irving, 90 of Palm City, Florida, passed away peacefully with family by her side on October 4, 2016. Born at home in Brooklyn, NY, Anne was the eldest child of John and Alice Connell’s six children.

Anne’s memory will forever be cherished by her loving and devoted family, including seven children: Gerard (Sharon), East Aurora, NY; John, Estes Park, CO, Joseph (Nancy) Massapequa Park, NY; Kathy Shabotynskyj (Tony) Palm City, Jean Heald (Scott) Lake Worth, FL, Kevin (Nicolo Fonte) Portland, OR and Mary Logan (Steve) Port Orange, FL. She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Gerard J. Irving Sr. and her brother, Charles Connell. Also surviving Anne are her two brothers and two sisters, 16 Grandchildren and 5 Great Grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins plus many dear friends.

Anne earned a Bachelor’s degree from St. Joseph’s College in Brooklyn, NY and returned to college to earn a Master’s degree from Hofstra University (NY.) Anne was an Educator, teaching for many years for the Diocese of Rockville Center at Maria Regina School in Seaford, NY. After retiring to Palm City, Anne was an active member of Martin Downs Country Club where she worked diligently on her golf game. She also participated in local clubs including American Association of University Women and the League of Women Voters. She was proud of her service on the Board of Directors of Martin Downs Master Property Owners Association and Sunset Trace’s Board of Directors. For the past year, Anne resided at The Allegro in Stuart where she made many new friends and engaged in an active social life.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Friday, October 21, 2016 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, Palm City.
