Evangeline  Sullivan
Evangeline “Eve” Alexion Sullivan, 96, of Palm City, Florida passed away Tuesday, September 21, 2016 from Water’s Edge Extended Care at Sandhill Cove.

Born in Lawrence, Massachusetts, Eve moved to Florida as a young adult. Eve and her first husband, Neil McCaffrey, owned and operated McCaffrey’s Restaurant and Cocktail Lounge in Fort Lauderdale for seven years. After his death, Eve managed the restaurant at Monmouth Beach Club at the New Jersey shore during the summer months. She also worked as an interior decorator and in real estate sales in Florida.

Eve loved traveling, playing golf (made 3 holes-in-one in her lifetime), playing bridge, and cooking, but most of all enjoyed spending time with friends and family. She was a horse racing enthusiast who enjoyed going to the racetrack and over the years owned small stakes in a few thoroughbreds. Eve was especially proud of her Greek heritage.

Eve was predeceased by her parents, Arthur and Athena (Triandafilou) Alexion; her brothers, Christos and Thomas; her sister, Joanne Clouten; and her niece, Athena Lawson. Eve was also predeceased by her second husband, J. Walter “Mickey” Sullivan and step daughter, Mary Ann Sullivan.

Eve is survived by two step daughters, Judy Viola and her husband Tom, Jere Cognetta and her husband Gary; 6 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; nephews, Arthur Alexion and his wife Alexa; Scott Lawson and his wife Cheryl; nieces, Maria Economou and her husband John, Joyce Alexion; and numerous great nieces and nephews.

Inurnment will take place at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Neptune Township, New Jersey. Memorial donations may be made to the Sandhill Cove Foundation, Inc. or Treasure Coast Hospice.
